Oil & Gas
Australia’s oil and gas industry plays a significant role in the country’s economy with the sector contributing a value added figure of $32 billion to national output in 2012-2013. (1)
Australia’s abundance of natural resources and strong export demand from Australia’s major trading partners has driven strong growth in the resources sector (including oil and gas) over the past decade. Of all committed resource and energy projects, oil and gas projects now account for over 85% of investment in Australia. (1)

Barcode and GPS Tracking to Track and Manage Materials for Oil & Gas Construction Project
Country or Region: Australia
John Holland is Australia’s leading and most diversified contracting, engineering and services providers. John Holland was awarded the onshore gas plant construction works for Apache Energy Limited’s Devil Creek Development Project (DCDP). The scope of project included significant construction work. Material Tracking and Management was critical for this project as the items were getting dispatched from Thailand. Another important issue was to integrate the material data with the 3D Model, WorkPacks and QA/QC systems.
Trackem delivered a complete materials management solution which also linked the 3D ConstructSim model with live material information from the field using the custom built Track’em plugin.
The 3D model was colour coded to provide up-to-date visual representation of the projects progress- all at the click of a button.
Key Benefits of Track’em to this project
• Faster and accurate material reporting
• Mobile application which was not reliant on network
• 3D Visual status of progress of Milestones
• Efficient and seamless integration
• Accessibility of reports anywhere anytime
